Wendy Christensen, Plottr-certified editor

Wendy Christensen

Wendy is a certified word nerd who knows how to help authors turn a good story into a great one and the difference between a gerund and a present participle. Her love for the written word began in elementary school where she developed a passion for monthly book orders.

Middle grade and young adult titles still make up a significant portion of Wendy’s reading list. While she gets excited about well-written stories across many genres, fantasy is a consistent favorite.

A freelance editor and a writer of fiction and poetry, Wendy lives in a picturesque valley nestled in the Rocky Mountains with her husband and six children. She is fond of carousels and eating ice cream straight from the carton.

Wendy has a BA in English from the University of Utah and professional certificates in Copyediting and Creative Writing from UC San Diego Extended Studies. What is Plottr for Editors Certification?

All listed editors have completed our seven-week course for editors, including the following modules:
Editor Karla Diaz

Karla Diaz

Before becoming a writer and book coach, Karla worked as a consumer market researcher, delving into the stories behind the numbers and consumer accounts. Her passion for storytelling led her to leave market research in 2015 to write her first novel.

After three revisions of a 400+ page manuscript, her editor advised her to start over, which taught her valuable lessons about the writing process and perseverance. Determined to help other writers avoid the same frustrations, she became a certified book coach and trained in developmental editing.

Karla uses Plottr, a powerful tool that helps writers plan and edit their novels with precision and creativity. She looks forward to connecting with you to transform your ideas into compelling narratives. For editing inquiries, please contact Karla at karladiazedits.com.

Christine Nielson Editor

Christine Nielson

Yes, I went to college and learned a lot about literature and history. Yes, I am a badass about writing and fighting. But what really matters? My business is WORDS.

I destroy dragons and sequence fight scenes. I delve into unknown magical worlds and find homes for misplaced modifiers.

I develop cures for apocalyptic diseases and punctuate the formulas. I help mold the flesh onto the skeleton of an author’s story. I am an editor; therefore, I edit.

Susi Borath Nonnemacher editor

Susi Borath Nonnemacher

Susi is a developmental editor and sensitivity/accuracy reader. After nearly twenty years in marketing, she was primarily drawn to assignments that involved writing and editing website and email content. She also wrote a few novels, joined several writing and critique groups, and took a range of classes where she honed her fiction editing skills.

Susi’s expertise lies in developmental editing, particularly in the romance, mystery, and women’s fiction genres. Her personal experiences with autoimmune arthritis, Sjögren’s Syndrome, PCOS, Autism, ADHD, migraines, and infertility give her distinctive insight into characters that face similar challenges, making her an effective sensitivity/accuracy reader. As a mother of an autistic son, she can provide insightful feedback on stories featuring this experience. One of her favorite things is editing these stories to make them feel more authentic.

Editor John M. Olsen

John M. Olsen

John M. Olsen edits and writes speculative fiction across multiple genres, with a focus on Science Fiction and Fantasy, and loves stories about ordinary people stepping up to do extraordinary things.

He’s edited dozens of novels for multiple small presses and for authors, mostly as line and copy edits (nuts and bolts spelling, grammar, and word choice), with a growing emphasis on content edits to work with high-level story flow.

He loves to do presentations on writing, editing, and story structure for conferences and writing groups to pay it forward for the things others have taught him about the craft of writing.

Paired with those writing and editing skills, a career in software development has enhanced John’s ability to pick out details for consistency, flow, and applying all those pesky grammar rules while preserving the all-important author voice.

He lives in Utah with his lovely wife and a variable number of mostly grown children and a constantly changing subset of extended family and pets.

You can contact John via email and visit his blog to learn more.
